Grandpa and Grandma took us up camping and atv riding on the Grand Mesa. We had lots of fun. We enjoyed rain, mud, chasing cows, riding, and seeing deer. We survived falls downs steps, mosquitoes, close thunder, and several spots on the trail that tested my driving abilities. All in all it was an awesome trip!
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!!
Ready for our first ride of the day!!
This is how Hanna and I rode. The baby sling was a perfect seat belt for Hanna. When she fell asleep I could face her towards me and the sling would hold her in place. When she faced forward it gave her enough freedom to point and play.
Justin was on the look out all trip. Watching and waiting for any or all animals to appear.
Like this deer; we saw it right next to where we camped.
Justin showing how he likes to ride with Grandpa on "Grizz" and being in the lead.
Kaylynn keeping "Blue" company, while we made our cell phone calls to check on everyone.
It started raining one morning, enough that we had to put on rain gear. Hanna of course was asleep. She is under my rain gear, that is why I all of a sudden look pregnant again.
We had rain every day. Lots of rain like this storm. Every evening we would watch and enjoy the rain and then think of what a messy ride it might be in the morning.
Hanna woke up really happy and silly one morning.
After a few minutes of giggles then it turned into convincing Mom or Grandma to hurry up and cook breakfast.
Hanna copying me walking around with our hands behind our backs.
Kaylynn and Justin on patrol for wild animals, cows and anything else you could think of.
Justin and Grandpa striking the "strong" pose.
On top of the Mesa.
Good story for this picture. So the kids are standing at the door watching cows walk around. Somehow the door opens and Hanna takes a header down all the stairs. She never hit any other part of her body, just her head. Three stairs and the ground. She ended up with some pretty good goose eggs, but no concussion and no other ill effects. This was me trying to stop some of the swelling. I would hold on the ice on for 2 seconds and then hide it. This was repeated many times. All Hanna wanted to do was eat the ice cubes.
Grandma and Grandpa's "have to have, every trip, standoff." Grandpa says "which way should we go this time?" Grandma answers "remember we have little kids, no shortcuts or bad trails."
After the previous conversation is over, I actually got a good picture of the two of them!
SNOW!! Message to JL who was still in Arizona working and could not come play with us in Colorado. Plus we know just how much he loves snow. ;)
Kaylynn and Justin immediately started in on a snowball fight. We only stayed by the snow for 2 minutes, and then we were literally attacked by thousands of mosquitoes. So we turned and made it back as fast as we could to the 4-wheelers.
Grandpa trying to lead the kids up to a small waterfall, stay in control of them, pose for a picture and keep them all from falling into the water. Good reminder for Grandpa of how it use to be when us kids were young.
Hanna playing Queen of the rock!
Justin was in heaven the whole trip.
Kaylynn showing that you can be cute even when camping.
Hanna going on a walk-about. She loved to go for tiny walks every time we stopped.
Family Picture! Just wish JL could have been there, the kids had plenty of stories for him by the time we got back to Grandma and Grandpa's.
